All White But Not Really

I don't know about you but when I wear white on a hot summer day, I automatically feel better & less hot. I haven't tried it with a white turtleneck, tho....just kidding

Anyway, the photos in this post were taken during that 90-degree Saturday we had a couple of weeks back in New York. Met Brian Cheung, a young photographer, on Instagram & we took a shot at it. Boy, that was a tough day to walk around in the city for hours and shoot everywhere.

I don't remember the last time I wore shorts in public. Thighs, one of those things that I've always been a little bit more self conscious about. Like even when it's piping hot outside, I'd probably still wear a pair of trousers over a pair of shorts. But lately, I've been slowly wearing things that I wouldn't usually wear. Figured I should probably stop sacrificing my comfort for the sake of my teeny insecurities because yea....it's pretty stupid.

With this look, I know I wanted to be really comfortable so I went for a long white button-up shirt with slits on both sides that was made from a thin fabric. It's the perfect top if you want to wear short & be a little bit more covered. The shorts are form Forever 21 & they're made from a silk-like material. And to top off the look, I accessorized with a blue purse, MD.13 Jewelry's denim reversible choker & a belt.

Brian really wanted to take smoking shots so we did.

So sad that I wore these sneakers to Governor's Ball. They are now in the garbage.

MEET BRIAN (photographer)

This kid is a pretty awesome photographer. I say kid because he is 19 & I feel like a mother next to him, lol. He's in school & also pursuing his photography full-time. He's also very personable & funny. It's so rare when you meet someone new for the first time & they're just comfortable, it's refreshing. When I met with him on that stupid hot Saturday, my train was having major delays. I felt terrible that I was 2 HOURS LATE but he was still on good spirits.
